GUSTAVE KELLER PARIS Stylized brocade with modernist structure in silver (950), with four sides and hollow handle. Signed G. KELLER Paris. Weight : 888 g. H. Height : 25.5 cm. A few scratches from use, tiny impact on the top of the handle (not very visible), small crack at an inner joint on the lower part of the handle (not very visible). This model was one of four "wine and water jugs" presented at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in the goldsmith's and silversmith's class. An identical model, which appeared at the 1900 Exposition Universelle, was acquired by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. This model was reproduced in La Décoration et les Industries d'art à l'Exposition Universelle de 1900, by Roger MARX, Paris, C. Delagrave, 1901, p. 64-66. An identical example was sold for €12,500 in Marseille on 02/04/2010 (lot 89, Leclere SVV). A similar jug is now in the Musée du Petit Palais in Paris (Inv. ODUT1796).
